Comments: This course is one of the most favoured by quality golfers in Sydney and they find a different challenge every time they play it. Top players have many opportunities to pit their skills as Killara Golf Club has been more than generous in allowing major tournaments to be held for women and men. The traditional clubhouse is in a commanding position to the right and behind the 1st tee and to the left of the 18th green with its professional?s shop sitting against the clubhouse?s southern wall and behind the 18th. Inside the building exudes charm and an old-fashioned atmosphere that creates the feeling that at any moment ghosts from the past may well brush past you hurrying to the locker room to get ready for their round. There is a quietness and a dignity about the Killara clubhouse that removes any tension you may bring in from the course. The course sometimes won?t be that understanding. Although if you don?t take too many liberties you?ll be accepted and rewarded. But try to bash or bully your way around and you?ll be amazed how your score will climb and eventually total a lot more than your handicap allows. The course opens with a great par 5 that has a generous landing area for your tee and second shots. But it doesn?t take long to tighten your nerves and there are many very good players who believe the 5th hole is one of the toughest anywhere. It is an uphill par 4 of 366m with a jungle-covered chasm on the left and not very kind rough on the right...a tough hole that will test every nerve and gram of ability you have. The course is set in three different areas and you cross reasonably busy roads four times before you play the last two heading for home.
Green Fees: on application.
