Comments: The Pennant Hills Golf Club is the home of Tony Gresham, arguably Sydney?s greatest amateur since the halcyon days of Jim Ferrier. The course has been known for many years as Sydney?s most immaculate golf course and this reputation is jealously guarded by the members and staff. It is a beautiful layout with some intriguing holes. Although it is shorter than many other city courses, its tightish layout toughens it up equal to any other. There are some open spaces where the big hitters breathe sighs as they let out plenty of shaft but, equally, there are some holes where the shorter hitters can smirk as the big boys drive themselves into trouble. Thus, the course gives an infinite variety of golfing examinations and the player who graduates is a very happy person indeed. The finishing holes on each nine are of particular interest. The 9th tee is quite some distance above the green which is guarded by an up-front creek and bunkers and, at only 122 metres, it calls for skill and thought. The 18th tee faces the clubhouse where the wary aim for the clock set into the western wall of this very comfortable building. Players are faced with a shot of some 173 metres...a demanding task to tidy up their rounds. Pennant Hills...a great course and one that is a real pleasure to play.
Green Fees: on application.
