Englishman David Leadbetter has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the 2010 Asia Pacific Srixon PGA Coaching Summit.
Arriving in Australia in October Leadbetter, who has coached no less than four World No. 1 players throughout his career, will headline the biennial PGA conference to be held at Royal Pines Resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Known worldwide as ‘the Master of the art of teaching the golf swing,’ David’s list of past and present players reads like a ‘who’s who’ of world golf including Ernie Els, Nick Faldo, Trevor Immelman, Seve Ballesteros, Ian Poulter, and Michelle Wie, as well as two of Australia’s most successful champions Greg Norman and Peter Lonard.
Leadbetter will be in Australia to share his passion with approximately 500 Australian PGA Members who each year impart their own coaching expertise on the 1 million plus Australians who play the game each year.
“The PGA has run the Asia Pacific Srixon PGA Coaching Summit for the last 20 years and in this the 10th anniversary of the event it is fitting that David, the most profiled instructor we have had since the inception of this Summit, is attending as our keynote speaker,” said Max Garske, CEO of the PGA of Australia.
“The Asia Pacific Srixon PGA Coaching Summit is the most highly renowned coaching forum in the Asia-Pacific region, and we expect to attract record numbers to Royal Pines as a result of David’s attendance.”
In addition to his coaching prestige David is also the author of seven books that have sold over two million copies, has written and produced more than a dozen instructional DVD's and is the designer of several golf training aids that have sold well over a million units worldwide.
There are currently 27 David Leadbetter Golf Academies located around the world in 13 countries.
While the exact content of David’s presentations is still being finalised, he will provide the PGA attendees with a mix of theoretical and practical sessions which will be supported by other Australian PGA members and industry experts.
The 2010 Asia Pacific Srixon PGA Coaching Summit will be held at RACV Royal Pines Resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast from 19th to 21st October 2010. Srixon Sports Australasia will continue their long term support of the event as Naming Rights Sponsor and Official Equipment Supplier.
