TP Club Member off to the British Open Golf Championship

Jul 8, 2010

The recently launched TP Club is sending one of its members to this year’s British Open at St. Andrews with five times British Open Champion, Peter Thomson.

Campbell Robinson, a member of The National Golf Club in Victoria is the lucky winner of a golf trip of a lifetime offered to new members of the TP Club, a initiative of golf course architects Peter Thomson and Ross Perrett.

“At first I thought it was one of my golfing partners playing a trick on me.  I was floored by the news that I had won this amazing trip. I can’t believe I am going to the British Open, and even better it is at St. Andrews. Let’s just hope an Aussie can win, that would top it off.” said Campbell.

Campbell and his brother leave for St. Andrews early next week to take in all of the action of this year’s Open.  Campbell is also in for a money can’t buy treat with five times British Open Champion Peter Thomson giving Campbell a personal tour of St. Andrews and an insight into what it takes to win what is arguably the most desirable trophy in golf, the Claret Jug.

“I am certainly the envy of all of my golfing buddies,  not only am I going to the open, I am also going to sneak in a round or two while I am in Scotland.” Said Campbell

The TP Club was recently launched in May this year and offers members of golf courses designed by or associated with Thomson Perrett Golf Architects to play many of the 250 courses they have designed around the world. TP Club offers members preferred access and greenfee rates at championship golf courses such The National and Moonah Links in Melbourne and Hope Island and Twin Waters in Queensland.

“We are delighted with how the TP Club has grown since its launch.  The trip to the British Open is just the beginning of what we have planned for TP Club Members moving forward. If you love golf and travel, I urge you to join the TP Club. ” said Ross Perrett
