Cam Smith last Aussie standing for FedEx Final

Aug 30, 2021

Marc Leishman and Cam Davis were unable to finish high enough at the BMW Championship to advance to the FedEx Tour Championship. Meanwhile Patrick Cantlay outlasted Bryson DeChambeau at the BMW in an epic playoff. The Top 70 players battled for a place in the final 30 for the last week of the FedEx Playoffs and a chance at a USD$15 million pay day. Australia’s Cameron Smith finished T34th at the BMW but that was enough to hold on to 5th position going into the lucrative final event.

American Cantlay beat DeChambeau at the 6th playoff hole, with Sungjae Im 3rd, Rory McIlroy 4th and Erik van Rooyen in 5th position. That finish saw Cantlay leap frog Tony Finau to assume the number one ranking for the Tour Championship, with DeChambeau third, Jon Rahm fourth and our Cameron Smith in fifth.

Cam Davis was back in 37th spot to miss the cut, as was Marc Leishman (42nd) and Matt Jones (47th).
