In one of the most impressive and dominating displays in PGA Tour history, Dustin Johnson blew away the field to finish on -30, 11 shots clear of ironically named American Harry English who took up second spot. Cameron Smith was the best placed Aussie, having a great week finishing T18. He started with a stunning -7 first round and was placed in second spot early on fading over the weekend as the hot field shot the lights out!
Dustin Johnson, was Golf Insider’s tip in the Northern Trust, and he went into thefinal round with a commanding 5-shot lead over the field…
But in such a low scoring tournament, as the Fedex Cup curtain-raiser turned out to be, it wasn’t a case of counting our cash until our man was well into his final round at TPC Boston.
As it was… “DJ” turned it into a procession, rather than a race, as he romped to a massive 11-shot victory by posting a 30-under-par total if 254 – just one shot off the all-time PGA Tour record for a 72-hole event. If only they all won this easily!!
Here’s how it finished up in Norton, Massachusetts as Johnson landed his 22nd career title and extended his impressive record of having won at least one PGA Tour title every year since 2008!

The European Tour heads to another former Ryder Cup venue, the Belfry, for the ISPS HANDA ENGLISH CHAMPIONSHIP. This will be the final event in the “UK Swing” before the players return to action on mainland Europe (Spain – quarantine permitting!!) next week.
Meanwhile, over in the US, the Fedex Cup play-offs move to Olympia Fields GC in Illinois for the BMW CHAMPIONSHIP. Here the field will be cut down to just 70 players (from last week’s line-up of 125) as cream starts to rise to the top!
