Jason Day finishes 4th at AT&T

Feb 12, 2019

Jason Day finished in T4 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, his third Top 5 finish of the 2018/19 season and an encouraging sign that he is on track to win a second major this year. His closing round of 68 was a great effort following a disappointing 72 on the Saturday. Meanwhile Phil Micklelson announced he wasn’t a spent force with a blistering closing round of 65 on the final day. It saw him leap 34 places from his third round position to win comfortably by three shots from Paul Casey.
Australia’s Curtis Luck finished T28, Matt Jones T53 and Cam Davis T59. Baddeley, Pampling, Scott, Ruffels and Senden all missed the cut.
On the Champions Tour, David McKenzie made a solid debut finishing in T30.
The web.com Tour was in played in Panama and more strong Aussie results were recorded. Cam Percy and the improving Rhein Gibson finished T5 – the third Top 20 result by Gibson saw him move to 13th on current points ranking. Brett Coletta finished T12 and Brett Drewitt T36. Arnold, Goggin and Lee failed to make the cut.
The three other Tours had no tournament last week, with the Mackenzie Tour Qualifying beginning Feb 26th and the China Tour Qualifying starting a week earlier on February 19.
