Leishman’s fine form continues in Hawaii

Jan 15, 2019

Another week in Hawaii on the PGA Tour, another Top 10 result for Marc Leishman. The salty air and warm weather must suit the man from Warrnambool. Two weeks back he finished 4th and this week he finished in third spot – marking a fine start to 2019. While early in the season, Leishman currently sits in 3rd spot in FedEx Cup standings. After the event he is 16th on the official World Golf rankings – with a bullet! Jason Day remains the top ranked Aussie in 11th.
Cameron Smith continues his impressive form, the next best placed Australian in the Sony Open at T22. Matt Jones finished in T29 while Cam Davis and Adam Scott missed the Cut.
The only other event played last week was a PGA Latinoamerica qualifier in Florida and one Australian, Nicholas Barney was having a crack to gain a card, however he finished well back in T75 and didn’t earn any status for 2019.
Both the Champions Tour and web.com Tour resume this week after prolonged breaks.
