Marc off the leash in Kuala Lumpur

Oct 16, 2018

Marc Leishman was the runaway winner at the PGA Tour CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend. It was Leishman’s fourth PGA Tour victory. In other great news for Australia, his playing partner at next month’s World Cup in Melbourne, Cameron Smith, fired four consecutive rounds in the sixties to finish T22.
While some of the world’s best players weren’t playing in the early season event, it was still a strong field, and Leishman’s total of -26 equaled Justin Thomas’s Tournament record from 2015. His closing round of 65 (-7) was near flawless.
Leishman and Smith were the only Aussies playing on the main tour last week.
On the Champions Tour, David McKenzie finished a strong T18 for his sixth Top-25 finish for 2018.
In Hong Kong at the season finale on the PGA China Tour, Deyen Lawson tied for 4th, finishing 31st in the OOM – a great season for the Australian in his first China series.
Meanwhile, Harrison Endycott recorded his fourth consecutive Top-10 finish on the PGA Latinoamerica Tour, to sit 14th on the OOM.
The web.com season is complete and begins again in early January 2019.
