Minjee Lee now ranked #3 in World

Mar 5, 2019

While Aussie men had a quiet week on the PGA Tour, Minjee Lee continues to create a huge presence on the LPGA Tour. On the weekend, Lee finished second to World number one Sung Hyun Park at the HSBC Women’s World Championship and in the process she is now ranked #3 in the Rolex World Rankings.
Australia’s Lydia Ko finished T11 in the same event, while Sarah Jane Smith (T43) and Su Oh (T57) also made the Cut. The ladies move to Arizona this week and here’s hoping Minjee and Co. continue their great form on the LPGA Tour.

At the Honda Classic on the PGA Tour, it was lean pickings for the men. While big guns Jason Day and Marc Leishman didn’t play, we had six starters and only two, Matt Jones (T36) and Cameron Davis (T59) made the weekend action. Cameron Smith missed his first cut in nine starts this season after he carded a second round 79, finishing on +7 after two rounds.
On the Champions Tour our only starter, David McKenzie, finished well back in T66.
Most other Tours had the week off, with just the Mackenzie (Canada Tour) and China Tour holding qualifying events. In Canada, Baxter Ward finished T19 to gain conditional exempt status for the 2019 season, while in China, Kevin Yuan fished T5 to secure six guaranteed starts at the beginning of the 2019 PGA China Tour season.
