The PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage has been completed on a Monday morning due to inclement weather, however that didn’t stop World #1 Scottie Scheffler from adding another victory to his increasingly impressive resume.
The 2024 Masters Champion captured his 10th PGA TOUR victory in his 121st start at the age of 27 years, 10 months. He is the first player to win a major and win on TOUR the following week since Tiger Woods in 2006 (Woods won the PGA Championship and followed it with a win at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational). Scheffler finished on -19, three shots ahead of second placed Sahith Theegala (-16), with Wyndham Clark and Patrick Cantlay a further shot behind sharing T3.
The victory marked Scheffler’s 10th win since the start of the 2021-22 season and he becomes the first player to win 10 (or more) times on the PGA TOUR in the span of three seasons since Dustin Johnson won 10 titles between 2015-16 and 2017-18.
With plenty of events in this calendar to come (17th of 36 events in the FedExCup Regular season), the win matches his career-high with four wins in a season (2021-22). He’s just the fourth player with multiple four-win seasons since the start of 2000, joining Phil Mickelson (2), Vijay Singh (3) and Tiger Woods (10).
Best placed Aussie was Jason Day (-9) who finished T18, with Cam Davis finishing well back in T49 (-3). The field was just 69 players with no cut.
