Leishman's putter runs hot at USPGA Farmers Insurance Open

Jan 29, 2020

Marc Leishman’s putter ran hot at the USPGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open, helping him to a one shot victory over Jon Rahm. On a tricky last day where Rory McIlroy bogeyed three of his first four holes and 54 hole leader Rahm bogeyed four of his first five, The Leish carded seven birdies in his first thirteen holes and in a blink he was the new tournament leader with a few holes to play. A stumble at 17 with a bogey only focused Leishman’s desire to return to the winner’s dais – his birdie on eighteen clinching the win.
Leishman’s final round 65 was an incredible performance given the conditions and the victory on Australia Day headlined a great week for the Aussies. Abroad, Lucas Herbert also saluted in the European Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic.
