Chris Kirk wins PGA Honda Classic, Aussie Cam Percy finishes T12

Feb 27, 2023

As the first major of the calendar year approaches (The US Mastersin April), the PGA Tour rolls on while the LIV season kicked off in Mexico.
The PGA Honda Classic was held at the PGA National Resort (The Champion), Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Chris Kirk of the US beat fellow countryman Eric Cole. Tied after regulation, the two headed to the 18th for the first playoff hole. Kirk played his second shot safely short of the green while Cole took the aggressive approach over the water but found the sand behind the green. A superb 100m pitch by Kirk finished less than two feet from the hole and he tapped in for birdie, while Cole finished some 4m away after his bunker shot and couldn’t convert the birdie.
Meanwhile Australia’s Cam Percy had a great week, finishing on -7 to tie for 12th. A little further back were Min Loo Wee and Harrison Endycott (T26), Brett Drewitt (T29) and Geoff Ogivly at 80th, making the cut of +1 to see the weekend action. Aussies Cam Davis, Aaron Baddeley and Greg Chalmers missed the Cut.
