New Golf Podcast ‘Talk Birdie To Me’ hits airwaves

Feb 27, 2023

In some more good news for golf fans, a new weekly Podcast titled ‘Talk Birdie To Me’, hosted by high profile professional golfers; Nick O’Hern and Mark Allen has now begun.
Nick O’Hern is a former tour pro who played all over the world for two decades. He reached #16 in the world rankings, played in two Presidents Cups and is the only person to beat Tiger Woods not once, but twice, in matchplay.
Mark Allen was a tour pro for 15-years, including playing the British Open at Carnoustie. He has worked at 3AW, Macquarie Sports Radio and SEN for over a decade. As a survivor of Stage 4 Bowel Cancer, Mark is now a Bowel Cancer Australia Ambassador and public speaker.
Each week Nick and Mark analyse breaking news in the world of golf, give their opinions on what they’re seeing, and offer a weekly masterclass on a particular shot, performance, or technique.

In the first episode of ‘Talk Birdie To Me’ they discussed:

·      Jiyai Shin’s fantastic win in the recent Vic Open; and explain how she won by taking spin off the ball into the wind.
·      The return of Tiger Woods in Phoenix, and Nick talks about bumping into Tiger in Miami after he’d beaten him.
·      Mark Allen gives his Top 5 great players, terrible technique.
·      And, of course, they talk LIV Golf and whether the players at LIV should receive ranking points or be allowed to return to the PGA.

Nick says:
‘I’m very passionate about what’s happening in golf right now. It’s going to be a blast sharing my insights and experiences from over 20 years on tour, with one of the great conversionalists, Mark Allen’.

Mark says:
‘After 40 years of playing, teaching and commentary...I still LOVE talking about Golf. Tapping into Nick O’Hern’s sense of fun and his golfing mind will be superb, and I’m sure golf fans will appreciate and enjoy’.
