There are an abundance of great courses and stunning coastal views from every corner, situated just an hour outside of Melbourne the golf here is simply awesome.

The sand base of most of the Mornington Peninsula means that almost all of its 19 golf courses can be played year-round. From Mornington to Portsea, immaculate courses dot the countryside, including the home of Australian golf Moonah Links, the highly rated The Dunes and the acclaimed Cape Schanck golfing precinct.

Course Notes:

The National Golf Club - Australia's largest private golf club with three courses regularly rated among Australia's Top 30, including Moonah ranked in the Top 10.

St Andrews Beach - Superb new golf course situated on the Peninsula's rolling Cups country and designed by American architect Tom Doak. Opened in 2005 and already ranked among Australia's Top 10 courses.

Moonah Links - The new home of Australian golf, Moonah Links has two challenging links-like courses; the Open or Leviathan is already a giant in Australian golf and regular Australian Open venue. The second course, Legends, is a beautiful dune course that is more forgiving and playable that its mighty sister.

The Dunes - Links golf is "real golf" so they say, and The Dunes is as real as it gets in Australia. This phenomenal course has only been open since March 1997 in its present form, and already has received rave reviews by the established golfing journalists including Victoria's number 1 public access golf course, and Australia's Top 25 courses. The course winds through rolling valleys, hollows, hillocks and swales, and although there are just a few gentle hills, most greens and tees are in elevated positions so that a stout constitution is desirable.

Portsea - Portsea is rated amongst Australia's Top 30 courses and has been voted the 3rd best public access course in Victoria. Rolling hills provide spectacular views across the bay and also give you a good aerobic workout along the way. The superb couch fairways will never leave you with a bad lie, while the greens are fast and true - as good as any on the famed sandbelt courses

Cape Schanck - Challenging design and spectacular scenery, luxuriant and highly manicured greens and fairways attract players from all over the world. The unique natural topography and geology make for year round playability.

Eagle Ridge - An undulating course with 3 lakes, an abundance of bunkers and bent grass greens, Eagle Ridge is a sand-belt links style course. The reticulated fairways, greens and well-manicured tees make the course an excellent wet weather course.

Sorrento - Well groomed, hilly course with all year playability set on sand and limestone base. Generous fairways and roughs surrounded by heavily wooded plantations. Bent grass greens moderately to heavily bunkered. Rated Victoria's 5th best public access golf course.
