Description On oasis in the desert, this highly acclaimed Thomson-Wolveridge layout has been compared with famous courses around Palm Springs in California. The fairways are paspalum, a salt water tifdwarf, pure couch and the greens are fast, undulating and true. There is no shortage of sand for the beautifully formed bunkers that adorn the layout. Golfers who have experienced desert golf know the sensation of seeing the white ball contrast against the dark green fairway, the red rock and the blue sky. The course opened in 1985 with a match play exhibition in which Greg Norman defeated Johnny Miller. In 1996 Adam Scott & Aaron Baddeley played in the Aust Junior Championship.

When visiting Alice you have to play the course!

The Alice Springs Golf Club is an oasis in the desert in the centre of Australia. The course has many unique and scenic views that makes playing a round here a memorable golfing experience. While suitable for all skill levels, golfers need to balance power and distance against the need for accuracy and control due to the unforgiving nature of the rough and several narrow fairways.
The Club boasts a fleet of motorised golf carts that can be hired or if you prefer to walk the course it is a leisurely stroll. Hire equipment is also readily available.
The Alice Springs Golf Club is currently ranked #68 in the 2019 Golf Course Guide Top 100 rankings.
Visitors are welcomed and encouraged to play 9 or 18 holes and experience the challenges of Australia's only true desert course.
After your round come back to the Clubhouse for a cold refreshment and stay for a meal at the award winning Rangeview restaurant which provides magnificent views of the nearby MaDonnell Ranges.

          Alice springs

The sporting showpiece of the unofficial capital of Central Australia is the stunning Alice Springs Golf Club which boasts one of the world's finest desert venues set in the foothills of the majestic MacDonnell Ranges. With several quality hotels backing onto the course, why not stay a couple of days and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
The Alice Springs course has earned rave reviews from golfers world-wide as a course of unique charm blended with some subtle severity. Accuracy is a must and even the boldest hitters must harness their power and replace it with discretion to ensure a safe landing, rather than challenge the menacing rocky outcrops which lurk at the edges of several of the fairways.
Australia's golfing legend, Peter Thomson, with his business partner, Michael Wolveridge, designed and constructed the course during the early 1980's. It is currently rated 53rd in Australia by Australian Golf Digest, in the world's top ten desert courses and one of Australia's top 25 golf resorts.
The fully equipped Club provides a restaurant, bars, a well stocked pro-shop, a floodlit driving range and putting green.
Visitors are always welcome to enjoy the Course, Clubhouse facilities and views.
