Phil Mickelson creates history and wins PGA

May 24, 2021

It is official, Thumbs up Phil has become the oldest winner of a major championship at 50 years of age. At the 2021 USPGA Championship at Kiawah – the longest course ever presented at a major - the oldest winner ever has prevailed. A pretty fair effort that!
It’s major number 6 for Phil, it’s his second PGA title and 45th PGA Tour win overall.

During the last round, two shot swings the norm. A birdie to Phil, bogey to Koepka or visa versa. However when it mattered Phil hung tough and took the title in front of an insanely patriotic and rapturous crowd.

Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka tied for second place two back.

From the Aussie contingent, our lowest profile participant delivered our best result, with 32 year old Jason Scrivener from Perth finishing in T23 at +1. Matt Jones (T30), Jason Day (T44), Cam Davis and Cam Smith (T59) and Lucas Herbert (T71) were others to make the cut.
