Sweden’s Maja Stark has won the 2025 US Women’s Open by two strokes from America’s Nelly Korda and Japan’s Rio Takeda.
It was tough going for the women players at Erin Hills with only thirteen players able to break par over the four days. Stark finished on -7, two strokes ahead of her American and Japanese rivals. Two players shared T7 on -3, three players shared T9 on -2 and another two players, including our own Hannah Green finished on -1 to record a T12 finish.
Australia’s Minjee Lee was in the hunt entering the final round, however a disappointing closing round of 77 saw her slip from the top 5 to T22.
Aussies Steph Kyriacou (+5), Grace Kim (+6), Gabby Ruffles (+7) and Jennifer Elliott (+10) failed to make the weekend action.
