Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick has held off fast finishing World #1 Scottie Scheffler at the RBC Heritage Tournament at Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Just one week post the Masters, some of the world’s best gathered to compete at the popular tournament. For a second week in a row, Scottie fell just short, this time losing a playoff to Fitzpatrick at the first playoff hole where Fitzpatrick made birdie.
Both players finished on -18, with Fitzpatrick holding a three shot advantage over Scheffler going into the final Round
Matt Fitzpatrick is now 2-0 in playoffs with both coming at RBC Heritage (def. Jordan Spieth with a birdie on the third playoff hole in 2023). The 2023 RBC Heritage winner becomes 11th player to win the event multiple times. Entering the week No. 5 in the FedExCup standings Fitzpatrick earns 700 FedExCup Points and moves to No. 2, just behind the World No. 1 Scheffler who posts a final-round 67, his 16th under-par score in as many rounds at the RBC Heritage.
Scheffler now has 29 straight top-25 finishes on TOUR, with his last finish outside the top 25 at the 2024 BMW Championship (T33) and his runner-up result marks his 45th time in 158 starts finishing T3 or better on TOUR (28.5%); win (20), 2nd (12), 3rd (13).
For the first time in his 11th season on the PGA TOUR, Si Woo Kim (3rd/-16) posts three top-3 finishes in one season (T2 Farmers Insurance Open, T3/WM Phoenix Open, 3rd/RBC Heritage).
Collin Morikawa (T4/-13) made his second start on TOUR since withdrawing on his second hole of THE PLAYERS Championship with a back injury, notching his second consecutive top-10 finish (T7/Masters Tournament) and fifth of the season
Harris English (T4/-13) posts his best finish in 13 appearances at this event (previous: T8/2012 in tournament debut).
First-round leader Ludvig Åberg (T4/-13) records his fourth top-5 finish in his last five starts this season (T3/Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, T5/THE PLAYERS Championship, T5/Valero Texas Open, T21/Masters Tournament, T4/RBC Heritage).
2026 Texas Children’s Houston Open winner Gary Woodland (T8/-11) holes out from 204 yards on the 72nd hole marking fourth-longest of any hole-out at Harbour Town Golf Links in the ShotLink Era.
Michael Kim (T25/-8) equals his career-low 18-hole score on TOUR with a bogey-free 62 that includes a career-best 20 putts; fewest putts of any player (96) and one of seven players with less than 100 putts this week
