Golf back in fours across New South Wales

May 14, 2020

After Monday's announcment that golf could be played in Victoria as of Wednesday May 13, we now had all states and territories able to hit the fairways. Despite atrocious weather, Victorians voted with their feet and swamped courses more heavily than the constant rain.
Although strict restrictions are in place (pairs only, one per cart, no touching flag sticks, rakes, no holes to drop the ball in etc.) the newly adopted restrictions were embraced with vigor.
And the news continues to get better. Golf NSW is pleased to advise that the NSW Office of Sport has confirmed the resumption of golf in groups of four, effective Friday, May 15.
Whilst the limit to the number of people exercising outdoors has increased to 10, there has been no change to social distancing requirements.
Golf NSW urges Clubs continue to implement modified playing conditions that reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 by contact, these conditions include, flags sticks to be left in, no rakes in bunkers, no swapping of scorecards etc.
For more information on the return to regular groups of four for club - based golf and other frequently asked questions surrounding participation in the sport during the current health crisis, please visit: www.golfnsw.org.au
