Scottie Scheffler has confirmed his World #1 ranking with back to back victories at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village, Dublin, Ohio, joining Tiger Woods (1999-2001) as the only players to successfully defend their title at the Memorial.
It’s been a huge month for Scottie, with wins at the CJ Byron Nelson Cup at the beginning of May, then he won the PGA Championship with ease and now at the Memorial Tournament he earns 16th career PGA TOUR victory in his 142nd start at the age of 28 years, 11 months.
He moves to T54 on the all-time wins list, tying five others (Jack Burke, Jr., Ralph Guldahl, Mark O’Meara, Justin Thomas, Tom Weiskopf). Victory also places him in rare air – with fourth shortest span between first and 16th PGA TOUR wins:

Sepp Straka (3rd/-5) collects his fifth top-10 finish in 16 starts this season, tying his career-high in a single season on TOUR (2021-22, 2022-23); played the weekend in 8-under after starting 3-over.
36-hole co-leader Nick Taylor (4th/-4) closed with rounds of 74-73, claiming his third top-10 finish of the season and first since The Genesis Invitational (T9).
The best placed Aussie was Adam Scott (T31/+5), a lazy 15 shots adrift the leader. Min Woo Lee (+10/T49) also made the cut with Cam Davis missing the weekend action.
