Australia's Top 25 Public Access/Resort Golf Courses
Golf Australia Jan/Feb 2005Following hot on the heals of the Golf Course Guide's listing of Australia's Top 100 Public Access courses comes the latest Golf Australia Magazine ranking's. Once again, split into two categories - those Public Access courses with resort facilities and those without.
The criteria for ranking both sets of courses is slightly different with Resort courses judged on design, condition and memorability while the Public Access courses are judged on the above criteria as well as difficulty, aesthetics and playability. In the Public Access list for 2005, the eagerly awaited Barnbougle Dunes debuts at No 1, and there are extensive changes throughout the list as Moonah Links’ accommodation reclassifies it as a Resort Course, The Vintage, St Michael’s, Thirteenth Beach (Creek), Ranfurlie and Kingston Links all debut, whilst Horsham and others disappear from the rankings.
