GREG NORMAN AGWA ROOKIE OF THE YEAR NAMED

The Australian Golf Writers Association in conjunction with Great White Shark Enterprises has named young Melbourne golf professional Matthew
Griffin as the 2008 / 2009 Greg Norman AGWA Rookie of the Year.  Griffin who turned professional in October 2008 after a distinguished amateur career has acquitted himself well in his first year as a pro by winning the Fijian Open, obtaining his Asian Tour Card and coming 5th on the Von Nida Tour Order of Merit. He tied for 32nd behind Tiger Woods in the recent JBWere Australian Masters and sits at number 43 on the Australasian PGA Tour order of merit.  

He will be presented with his award at the Australian Golf Writers Association annual dinner which will be held at The Lakes Golf Club  Sydney
on Saturday night December 5th .   Griffin now joins a list of players including Jarrod Lyle, Jason Day, Michael Sim and last year's winner Rick
Kulacz in taking off this coveted annual award that carries the name of both Greg Norman and the Australian Golf Writers Association.
