Now owned by Walker Corporation, the $800m Hope Island resort has a new release of villas at The Links, 3-bedroom plus study from $725k and luxury homes at The Quays from $1.14m. There are also duplex apartments and limited waterfront land. Ultimately the 360ha Integrated Tourist Resort will include 1900 residences by 2009.
New luxury Bale homes are offered next door to the Mirage Country Club Port Douglas by a joint venture between MFS and the Ray Group in a $130m development.
Macquarie Bank and Indigo Group have formed a j-v to redevelop the nine holes at Novotel Palm Cove into 300 lots for houses and villas from $500k.
Nearby Paradise Palms just north of Cairns has new homes and apartments on offer.
Brookwater is a $6b master planned community in the Brisbane growth corridor for 2500 residents on 851 lots set on 2800ha with land priced from $235k and homes from $565k.
The $450m 103ha master-planned development of Noosa Springs has a new release of luxury 2- and 3-bedroom apartments priced from $750k in The Pines.
FKP’s residential master planned community around the private members club Peregian Springs on the Sunshine Coast offers land, established homes and gated communities. Completed homes typically sell above $500k.
Austcorp have expanded the Coral Cove Resort development 12k south east of Bundaberg to 249 ha with up to 771 home sites, 70 resort villas and hotel units with a completed value of $153m.
There has been a recent release of additional land, Riverside, at Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, together with a major refurbishment announced for the hotel.
North Lakes has an exclusive golf course village currently with 5,500 residents – a figure that’s expected to reach 25,000.
Established developments at Sea Temple (Links) Pt Douglas, Coolum, Twin Waters and Club Pelican (which has just had a Ramada Resort Hotel open its doors on site) usually have properties with course frontage offered for resale.
In the past four years since Mulpha purchased Sanctuary Cove (after nine years in receivership), over $400m in real estate has been sold, bringing to 1800 the number of residents at Australia’s benchmark gated community that includes two golf courses, The Palms and The Pines, over 90 stores and restaurants, a 297-berth marina and the five star Hyatt Regency Hotel. Prices for waterfront land have trebled over this period to around $1.25m for a typical 850 sq m lot, dry blocks from $400k. Fairway frontage homes are on sale from around $1m.
There is no new land, but existing homes may be available for resale at Arundel, Palm Meadows, The Grand, Lakelands and the Glades.
Gympie Pines Golf Course is offering 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom fairway villas from $240k including 3 year golf membership.
Lakeside Links designed by Wayne Grady is under construction and due for a mid-2007 opening at Chris Dadson’s $1.2 billion Reef Palms development at Zilzie near Rockhampton. 650 residential lots, villas and a hotel are proposed.
Links Living are involved with a 350 lot development and hotel for the Maroochy Shire, with the Montville Country Club to be a public access course designed by Thomson Perrett.
They also plan a 2000 home community including a retirement village and hotel around Whitsunday Springs Public Golf Course to be built by 2009 at Riordanvale.
Karrie Webb’s Jagabara Course is under construction at David Marriner’s vast Laguna Whitsundays resort at Midge Point, and is scheduled to open mid-2007. A marina expansion is planned, and the Whitsunday Coast International Airport is under construction. The five-star Turtle Point Hotel of 126 rooms is being refurbished. Land and occasional resale of homes are available. The Pandanus course by Greg Norman is in the planning stage for a 2009 opening and in partnership with Medallist will offer an additional 314 home sites.
Titanium Enterprises have proposed a Greg Norman designed resort golf course Pacific Heron on the Pimpama River, Coomera with a boutique hotel and residential lots. The same team propose another Norman course, Walking Stick, for The Edge Resort and hotel east of Kin Kin in the Noosa hinterland. This huge $450 eco-tourism development on 514 ha will include five-star tourist accommodation, horse riding, resort and spa.
Former British Open champion Tom Weiskopf has been mentioned as the likely designer for Seven Mountains golf course on the Gold Coast. This $800 million golf and equine development brings together Craig Gore, son of the late Mike Gore, legendary developer of Sanctuary Cove, and V8 Supercars Chairman Tony Cochrane, with triple gold medallist Andrew Hoy heading the $50m equine component. The 925 ha site will encompass 1500 lots including 720 planned homes and units ranging from $300k to $1m.
Ella Bay is a $1.4 billion proposal on a 450 ha cattle property by the P3 Prestige Property Partnership joint venture of John Holland and Warren Witt north of Innisfail, North Queensland. 800 homes with golf, ocean or lagoon views are planned with two 18-hole courses, retail precincts and five-star resort accommodation.
Hamilton Island Enterprises are seeking approval for Thomson Perrett to design a public golf course for Dent Island. There would be a hotel and 39 residential lots possibly by 2009.
