Curlewis Golf Club General Manager Jamie Brigden and Owner David Sharp were proud winners at the Victorian Golf Awards last week, the recipients of the Best Victorian Pro Am (Regional) Award for the Blitz Golf Pro Am. The first Blitz event for the State was held last January, with some of Australia’s best male and female professionals competing for the $50,000 in prizemoney.
“Thanks must go to Blitz promoter Simon Zybek for all his vision and effort in making Blitz Golf happen.” said GM Jamie Brigden at the awards held at The Melbourne Arts Centre.
“A huge thanks also to all the Curlewis Golf Club volunteers who withstood the 43 degree conditions, making the day such a huge success.”
Hailed as the T20 of Golf, Blitz Golf is breathing new life into Pro Am events around the country and now boasts an Amateur series held at various clubs nationwide.
Blitz Golf will return to Curlewis on Sunday January 5th with the men and women playing in the same event for the same prize purse. “Let’s hope for an even bigger and better event this year.” added Brigden.
